... Closure Options ...

As an option on your Manual Entrance Door you can choose from a range of Closure options. The door closure is the spring unit which allows the door to return to the closed position.

The range of closure units is comprehensive to accommodate variable factors such as the type and size of door, the level of usage and the environment into which the door is installed. The closure units allow adjustment to the opening and closing speeds and forces to ensure the correct setup for your installation.

The types of closure units include:

  • Concealed Transom Closure
  • Concealed Floor Closure

...concealed transom closure...
The Concealed Transom Closure is the most common unit for the connect a.d. Framed Glass Entrance Door. As the name suggests, it is concealed within the door transom at the top to maintain the finished lines of the doorset. This closure can also be used with the connect a.d. Frameless Glass Entrance Door when a doorframe is specified.

The concealed transom closer is available in light, medium or heavy duty, and with or without a 90 degree hold open feature, which prevents the use of door wedges that can damage both the door and the closure.

...concealed floor closure...
The Concealed Floor Closure is the most common unit for the connect a.d. Frameless Glass Entrance Door. It is also used for the connect a.d. Framed Glass Fire Door to provide the required specification for fire doors.

This type of closure is concealed within the floor to maintain the ’frameless’ look of the doorset that would not be achieved using a doorframe with a concealed transom closure. It is available in various strengths, configurations and with or without a 90 degree hold open feature. The unit is protected by a brass or stainless steel cover plate.

As an special alternative, a concealed floor closure can also be used for the connect a.d. Framed Glass Entrance Door where a concealed transom closure is not specified.
