... Activation ...

All connect a.d. Automatic Entrance Doors come with a range of activation options. These activation options include:

  • Overhead Sensor
  • Push Button
  • Remote Control
  • Pressure Mat
  • Controlled Entry
  • Fire Alarm

The connect a.d. range of Automatic Entrance Doors can use a combination of activation methods in order to meet your entry needs. If you are unsure of which activation means you require please do not hesitate to contact us.

...overhead sensor...
The most common activation is by Overhead Sensor to allow free movement of both disabled and able-bodied users through the opening from both sides. They can be combined with controlled entry systems to allow free movement from one side only. Overhead sensors are reliable and inconspicuous in design to maintain the aesthetic lines of the doorset. The detection zone of the sensor is adjustable to suit the surrounding environment and safety sensors can be incorporated.

...push button...
connect a.d. Automatic Entrance Doors can also be activated by use of Push Buttons, which are available in square or round stainless steel wall mounted units or narrow doorframe mounted units. Push buttons are commonly used for wheelchair access, and for all users when the surrounding environment does not accommodate the use of overhead sensors. In addition to hardwired push buttons, connect a.d. can provide wireless wall mounted push buttons to prevent the use of unsightly surface mounted cabling. If security is an issue the push buttons can be housed in a lockable box in order to stop unwanted tampering.

...remote control...
Remote Control activation is a common option for residential disabled users to open doors that have a connect a.d. Low Energy Door Operator. The remotes can be programmed to open a single door or a series of doors within a users home. Remote control can be used on all connect a.d. Automatic Entrance Doors and Automation products.

...pressure mat...
Pressure Mats can be provided as an activation option for your Automatic Entrance Door, where overhead sensors or push buttons are not practical. When a user steps onto the mat, the sensors in the mat activate the door operator to open.

...controlled entry...
connect a.d. can incorporate a Controlled Entry system to your new Automatic Entrance Door. It can be a stand alone system for restricted access from both sides of the door or combined with one of the options above to allow free movement from one side. Please see the Controlled Entry Option for further information.

...fire alarm...
All connect a.d. Automatic Entrance Door operators can be connected to a fire alarm system to open when the fire alarm is activated. The signal from the fire alarm is easily connected by the fire alarm company. Customers are advised to consult their local fire department to establish whether this function is necessary.
