... Locking Options ...

At connect a.d., we offer a range of Locking products that can be easily incorporated into our Manual and Automatic Entrance doors to meet different levels of security.

Many of the following Locking Options are used in conjunction with Controlled Entry products. See Controlled Entry for more details.

  • Deadlock
  • Flushbolts
  • Latchlock
  • Emergency Exit Hardware
  • Electric Strike
  • Magnetic Lock
  • Solenoid lock

...deadlock...
A Deadlock is supplied as standard on all connect a.d. Manual and Automatic Entrance Doors. It consists of an unsprung bolt which is locked and unlocked by keyed cylinder on both sides of the door. Alternatively, a thumbturn can be used to open the door from the inside while still retaining a key cylinder outside. The bolt is either rectangular in shape or in the form of a hooklock, which is suitable for all types of sliding doors. Extra deadlocks can be incorporated for additional security.

...flushbolts...
Two Flushbolts are supplied as standard on all double leaf connect a.d. Framed Glass and Fire Entrance Doors. They are concealed within the leading edge of the inactive doorleaf, one at the bottom to lock into the floor and one at the top to lock into the header or transom.

...latchlock...
A latchlock consists of a spring loaded bolt, bevelled on its striking face which retracts automatically to lock when the door is closed. The latchlock can be retracted back by using a thumbturn, handle, key or Emergency Exit Hardware. Latchlocks are commonly used with electric strikes as part of a controlled entry system (see Controlled Entry) and are suitable for Manual and Hinging Automatic Entrance Doors.

...emergency exit hardware...
If your connect a.d. Manual Entrance Door is used at a designated fire exit, we are able to fit Emergency Exit Hardware to ensure that the door is in compliance with fire regulations. The basic Emergency Exit Hardware is surface mounted onto the inside face of the door leaf and is suitable for occasional use. More frequently used fire exit doors require heavier duty hardware with a touchbar across the full width of the door leaf and a concealed latchlock and vertical bolts (for double leaf doors). Electric strikes and magnetic locks can be incorporated.

...electric strike...
An Electric Strike is used as part of a controlled entry system when a latchlock is fitted to the door. When an activation signal is sent to unlock the door, the electric strike deactivates to allow the door to open. It is suitable for connect a.d. Manual and Hinging Automatic Entrance Doors.

...magnetic lock...
A Magnetic Lock is used as part of a controlled entry system for connect a.d. Manual and Hinging Automatic Entrance Doors and is more secure than an Electric Strike. When an activation signal is sent to unlock the door, the magnetic lock deactivates to allow the door to open. It is also commonly used for double leaf doorsets when both leaves require to be opened together.

...solenoid lock...
A Solenoid Lock is used as part of a controlled entry system for all Manual and Automatic Entrance Doors. The connect a.d. Straight Sliding Automatic Entrance Door often incorporates a solenoid lock to prevent the door from being forced open from the Controlled Entry side. When an activation signal is sent to unlock the door, the solenoid lock deactivates to allow the door to open. As it is a concealed unit, the aesthetic lines of the doorset are maintained. This is also beneficial for the connect a.d. Frameless Glass Entrance Door where the solenoid lock can be concealed within a door rail.
